Infrastructures and Utilities

BCDA was vested by Republic Act 7229 with the power, among others, to construct and maintain infrastructure and utilities in correlation to its mandate on urban development, which includes roads, water and sewerage system, underground power distribution system and medium-rise housing units for socialized or active-military officer’s housing and military facilities.

One of BCDA’s  finest achievements in infrastructure is the  SUBIC-CLARK-TARLAC EXPRESSWAY (SCTEX) the country’s longest expressway at 93.77 kilometers.  Its construction  began April 5, 2005 and was fully operational on April 28, 2008.

The SCTEX was to transform the Central Luzon region into a world-class logistics hub in the Asia-Pacific region through the integration of economic activities in the Subic Bay Freeport, the Clark Freeport Zone, and the Central Techno Park in Tarlac by linking major infrastructures, such as the Seaport in Subic and the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark.

The Project aims to provide additional traffic routes and to improve the road networks in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) for the safety of the motorists and pedestrians. Also, the Project intends to provide additional facilities and provision for utilities to further strengthen and enhance BGC’s attractiveness to more investors and locators.

The Project covers the following roads: Rizal Drive, 32nd Street, 14th Drive, University Parkway/38th Street, 38th Drive, 36th Street and Access Road to Eastgate Property/UP Location.

The project involves construction of new roadways, final asphalt overlay on existing roadways, provision of pavement markings, warning and regulatory signs, construction of underground power distribution structure to serve as corridor for the 34.5KvA power system, street lighting system, construction of sidewalks, drainage and softscape along median island and sidewalks.
